About Us
The Ewing Educational Center of San Antonio was founded over 25 years ago by Dr. Beverly Ewing.  Dr Ewing developed the unique methods of instruction to fill the gap in the education system.
If you have a child struggling to learn in their current school setting, you understand the frustration, anxiety and feelings of hopelessness which grips these children and their families.

Hundreds of San Antonio children have learned the Ewing Method, enabling them to overcome their leaning differences.  Our students “learn how to learn” enabling them to succeed in education and life.  The goals of the program are to return students to the regular classrooms; prepare students for graduation from high school; and master college level course work.

Most of our students reached a dead end in the established public and private educational environment.   These are children “at risk” of falling through the educational cracks and failing to meet their personal goals.  The inability to learn in this environment causes students to act out their frustrations in unwholesome ways; they manifest disruptive behaviors in the classroom, the home and society in general.

Ewing Education is a learning environment that uses time-tested methods students can comprehend and easily master.  Our students experience success in learning, their abilities and self-esteem improve, aiding in their greater educational accomplishments. The frustration and low self-esteem behavioral problems associated with Learning Disabilities begin to disappear, allowing students to mature in socially acceptable and productive ways. We understand and are addressing the educational needs of a growing segment of today's student population.

Founder - Dr. Beverly Ewing

Dr. Beverly Ewing’s vision of a comprehensive method of education for children with learning differences started with her own experience with raising a child with learning disabilities.  Dr Ewing learned first hand the importance of offering educational alternatives for bright students with special learning needs.  Her vision is realized every day at EEC.

Dr. Ewing developed specialized curriculum and instructional procedures in grammar and math, which emphasizes the use of memory mnemonics.

She attributes much of the unprecedented success of EEC students to using a Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic-Tactile (VAKT) approach along with the specialized curriculum and instructional procedures.

Dr. Ewing holds undergraduate degrees in social science, elementary and secondary education, and an Ed.D. in Special Education, specifically learning disabilities. She is a lifetime certified educational diagnostician and served for five years as a special education consultant for the Texas Region One Educational Service Center. She is a state certified teacher and has taught elementary through university levels.
